The saying "size isn't everything" certainly applies to the Sector/Locality Table. At approximately 2 mb, it's not the biggest dataset available, by a long way, but it provides an extremely valuable link between address data and location. A significant proportion of the BPH clients taking the Sector/Locality data are in the business of "moving" things e.g. freight, personnel relocation, packages and leaflet distribution. It also forms a valuable component in "locator" facilities. Definitely a case of "good things come in small packages". Also available is a "sister" file - the Sector Alias/Locality Table. This file is in exactly the same format as the main table and contains "postally not required" data extracted from the Royal Mail alias locality file. Of most significance is the London district data, see highlighted rows of the second screen shot.

We have recently introduced a new file that links Locality & Town elements with GIS coordinates (Easting/Northing and Lat/Longs). The file is called GridLoc and is extremely useful for radial searches when the exact postcode is not known.
